Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your Mailthentic account by requiring a time-based code in addition to your password.

Setting Up 2FA

  1. Go to Account SettingsSecurity.
  2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.).
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm setup.
  5. Save the backup/recovery codes in a secure location.

Logging In with 2FA

After entering your email and password, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enter the current code to complete login.

Recovery

If you lose access to your authenticator app:

  • Use one of the backup codes provided during setup.
  • Each backup code can only be used once.
  • If you've exhausted all backup codes, contact support for account recovery.

Disabling 2FA

You can disable 2FA from Account Settings → Security. You'll need to enter a current code from your authenticator app to confirm the change.

Why Use 2FA?

Your Mailthentic account contains verification data and billing information. 2FA prevents unauthorized access even if your password is compromised.
