Terms of Use

These terms govern access to and use of Mailthentic services.

Last updated: March 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing Mailthentic, you agree to these Terms of Use and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Account Responsibilities

2.1 Accurate account information

You are responsible for providing accurate registration details and keeping credentials secure. This includes your email address, password, and any optional information such as your phone number.

2.2 Account security

We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your account. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including actions taken by team members you have invited.

2.3 Third-party authentication

You may sign in using third-party identity providers such as Google. By doing so, you authorize Mailthentic to receive your name and email address from that provider. You remain bound by the third-party provider's terms of service in addition to ours.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use Mailthentic only for lawful business purposes. You must not:

  • Use the platform for unlawful data collection, harassment, or spam.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit controls, or security measures.
  • Share, resell, or redistribute verification results as a competing service.
  • Upload data you do not have lawful authority to process.
  • Abuse promotional codes by creating duplicate accounts or using codes not intended for you.

4. Credit System and Billing

4.1 Credits

Each email verification consumes one credit. Credits may be purchased as one-time packages or received through a subscription plan that provides monthly allocations. Credit balances and ledger entries in your account are the authoritative usage record.

4.2 Credit expiry

Certain credit grants, including promotional and bonus credits, may carry an expiration date. Expired credits are automatically removed from your available balance and are non-refundable.

4.3 Promotional codes

Promotional codes provide bonus credits subject to their stated conditions. Promo codes are single-use per account, may have usage limits, and may expire. Mailthentic reserves the right to void credits obtained through abuse or fraud.

4.4 Subscription plans

Subscription plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor (Stripe). You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Unused subscription credits do not roll over unless explicitly stated in the plan terms.

4.5 Refunds

Purchased credits that have been consumed are non-refundable. Refund requests for unused credits are handled on a case-by-case basis through our support channels.

5. Teams and Workspaces

5.1 Team accounts

You may create a team and invite other users to collaborate. The team owner is responsible for the actions of all team members and for managing membership and roles.

5.2 Roles and permissions

Team members are assigned roles (owner, admin, member, or viewer) that determine their level of access. Only owners and admins may invite or remove members.

5.3 Shared responsibility

Credit consumption by team members is drawn from the shared team pool. The team owner is ultimately responsible for ensuring all members comply with these terms.

6. Scheduled and Recurring Jobs

You may configure scheduled verification jobs that run automatically at set intervals (daily, weekly, or monthly). Each scheduled run consumes credits from your balance. Scheduled jobs will not execute if your credit balance is insufficient. You are responsible for managing and monitoring your scheduled jobs.

7. Webhooks

You may configure webhook endpoints to receive automated notifications about verification events. By configuring a webhook, you accept responsibility for the security and availability of your receiving endpoint. Mailthentic signs webhook payloads for authenticity but is not liable for data exposure caused by insecure endpoint configurations on your side.

8. SMS Notifications

If you provide a phone number and opt in to SMS alerts, you consent to receiving transactional text messages regarding your account activity (e.g., low credit warnings, job completion alerts). Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply. You may opt out at any time through your notification preferences.

9. Service Limitations

Verification outcomes are generated from technical validation checks including DNS, MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records, as well as SMTP-level probing where possible. Results are provided to support decision-making and are not a guarantee of future message delivery or inbox placement.

10. Availability and Changes

We may update, improve, or modify features to maintain service quality. We may also suspend access for security, maintenance, or compliance reasons. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of material changes.

11. Account Deletion and Data Export

You may export your account data or request account deletion at any time through the dashboard. Upon deletion, your personal data, verification history, and team memberships are permanently removed. This action is irreversible.

12. Intellectual Property

All platform materials, designs, and software components are owned by Mailthentic or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Mailthentic is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from service use, including but not limited to losses from verification inaccuracies, scheduled job failures, webhook delivery failures, or service downtime.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to platform integrity. You may terminate your account at any time by requesting deletion through the dashboard.
