What is an SPF record?
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS TXT record that lists the servers allowed to send email for your domain. Receiving servers check it to confirm a message really came from an authorized sender, which helps your mail reach the inbox instead of spam.
Common SPF mistakes
- Publishing more than one SPF record (only one is allowed).
- Going over the 10 DNS lookup limit, which causes a permerror.
- Ending with
+all, which lets anyone send as your domain. - No
allmechanism at all, leaving the policy open.
