Brevo Email Verification Integration

Connect Brevo with Mailthentic to clean contact lists, protect sender reputation, and improve campaign deliverability. Connect with your Brevo API key in under a minute.

CRM integrations are included with any paid plan, a subscription or purchased credits.

Why verify your Brevo lists

Brevo bills by the email, so every invalid address in a list is a credit you paid for and a bounce you did not need. High bounce rates push your sender reputation down at Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo, which means the campaigns that do reach real subscribers land in spam instead of the inbox. Brevo also monitors deliverability on its shared sending infrastructure, and accounts with poor list hygiene can be throttled, reviewed or suspended.

Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, is an all-in-one marketing platform that combines email campaigns, SMS, automation and a built-in CRM. Teams use it to run newsletters, transactional email and lifecycle campaigns from a single contact database.

How Brevo verification works

Three steps to a clean Brevo list.

1

Paste your Brevo API key

Generate an API key in your Brevo account, then add it in Mailthentic under Settings, then SMTP and API. Brevo connects with your own key rather than OAuth, so you stay in control of access and can revoke it from Brevo at any time.

2

Import and verify a Brevo list

Pick the Brevo list you want to clean. Mailthentic pulls the contacts in, runs the full verification stack on each address, and shows you deliverable, risky, catch-all and invalid results with confidence scores.

3

Push the clean results back

Send verdicts back to Brevo. Mailthentic writes verification status and readiness attributes onto your contacts and gathers the clean ones into a dedicated Mailthentic list, ready to send.

Benefits for Brevo users

Stop paying to email dead addresses

Every hard bounce burns a Brevo sending credit for nothing. Verifying first means your credits go to contacts that can actually open, click and buy.

Protect your sender reputation

Mailbox providers judge you on bounce and complaint rates. Removing invalid and risky addresses before a send keeps those rates low and your inbox placement high.

Real round-trip sync

Import a Brevo list, verify it, then push the results straight back. No CSV exports, no manual re-uploads, no version confusion.

Verdicts written onto your contacts

Pushing back writes verification status and readiness attributes onto each Brevo contact, so you can segment and filter on them inside Brevo itself.

A ready-to-send clean list

Clean contacts are gathered into a dedicated Mailthentic list in Brevo, so your next campaign can target verified addresses immediately.

Keep automations healthy

Brevo workflows fire on contact activity. Junk addresses never respond, so cleaning your database makes automation reporting and lead scoring reflect reality.

What Mailthentic checks

Every Brevo contact runs through the full verification stack.

Syntax validation

Catches malformed addresses, stray characters and typos that Brevo will accept into a list but never deliver to.

Domain and MX record checks

Confirms the domain exists and publishes mail servers. Contacts on dead or parked domains bounce every single time you send.

Disposable email detection

Flags throwaway and temporary inboxes from thousands of known providers. These sign up for a lead magnet once and never open a campaign again.

Catch-all domain detection

Identifies domains that accept every address at the door. We label them accurately instead of pretending they are safe, so you can decide whether to include them in a Brevo send.

Role-based address flagging

Marks shared inboxes such as info@, admin@ and support@. They attract complaints and spam traps, and they skew your Brevo engagement metrics.

Risky and invalid address detection

Full SMTP mailbox checks with confidence scoring separate the genuinely deliverable from the risky, so you know exactly what you are sending to.

Brevo use cases

Clean an old Brevo database before a re-engagement campaign

Lists decay roughly a third every year. Verify before you mail a dormant segment so a win-back campaign does not turn into a bounce spike.

Scrub imported and purchased lists

Contacts imported from events, partners or another platform are the fastest way to damage a Brevo account. Verify them before they touch your sending domain.

Keep signup forms and lead magnets clean

Verify new subscribers through the Mailthentic API at the point of capture, so typos and disposable addresses never reach Brevo in the first place.

Recover deliverability after a bad send

If a campaign bounced hard and open rates collapsed, verify the whole database, remove the invalid contacts, and rebuild your sending reputation on real subscribers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Brevo to Mailthentic?
Generate an API key inside Brevo, then paste it into Mailthentic under Settings, then SMTP and API. Brevo uses your own API key rather than a one-click OAuth login, which means you keep control of the connection and can revoke the key in Brevo whenever you want. Once the key is saved, your Brevo lists appear in Mailthentic and you can import any of them.
Does verifying my contacts use up Brevo credits?
No. Verification runs entirely on Mailthentic and consumes Mailthentic verification credits, not Brevo sending credits. In practice it saves Brevo credits, because you stop paying to send campaigns to addresses that were always going to bounce.
Is the Brevo integration free?
The Brevo integration is included with any paid Mailthentic plan, either an active subscription or purchased credits. It is not available on the free tier. New accounts do get free credits for general email verification, but connecting a CRM or marketing platform requires a paid plan.
How does the two-way sync work?
It is a round trip. Mailthentic imports the contacts from a Brevo list, verifies each address, and then pushes the results back to Brevo. On the push, verification status and readiness attributes are written onto each contact record and the clean contacts are gathered into a dedicated Mailthentic list you can send to right away.
Is my Brevo data secure?
Your API key is stored securely and is only used to read the lists you choose and write results back. Contacts are processed for verification and nothing is sold, shared or used to build a marketing database. Processing is GDPR aligned, with a data processing agreement and a published subprocessors page.
What happens to the invalid addresses?
They stay in Brevo but are clearly labelled by the attributes Mailthentic writes back, so you can filter, segment or delete them on your own terms. The clean contacts are collected into the dedicated Mailthentic list, so you can start sending to verified addresses without touching the rest of your database. Mailthentic never deletes contacts from Brevo for you.
Can I verify new Brevo subscribers in real time?
Yes, through the Mailthentic API. Call the API from your signup form, landing page or backend before the contact is created in Brevo, and reject or flag anything invalid, disposable or risky at the point of capture. That keeps the database clean continuously instead of relying on periodic cleanups.
