Deliverability is decided by the rows you are unsure about
Your clearly valid addresses are not the problem, and neither are the obviously invalid ones. Your bounce rate is decided by the ambiguous middle, and how a verifier chooses to label it. The two big sources of ambiguity are catch-all domains, which accept every address whether or not the mailbox exists, and mailboxes on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, which answer 250 OK during an SMTP conversation even for addresses that do not exist. In both cases no verifier anywhere can confirm the individual mailbox. A tool can either present those as valid, which produces a lovely looking report, or it can label them honestly.
Mailthentic labels them honestly. Catch-all is reported as catch-all, unknown as unknown, and each row carries a confidence score alongside the status, the reason and the SMTP response code. That lets you set a threshold you can defend: send to everything above a confidence level you choose, hold back the rest, and know exactly what you decided and why.

What that looks like in practice

Every unique address then runs through syntax validation, domain and MX resolution, disposable domain screening, role based flagging, catch-all detection and an SMTP probe where the receiving server will give a meaningful answer. Temporary deferrals are retried with a backoff. The export gives you valid, invalid, catch-all, risky and unknown, each with a reason, an SMTP code and a confidence score, with your original columns preserved so it drops straight into your sending tool or CRM.
When another tool may suit you better
If you need an email service provider, a transactional sending platform or a marketing suite, buy the tool that does that job. Mailthentic verifies, explains and hands back. And to be plain about the limits: no verifier can promise that every address it marks valid will still accept mail next month, because mailboxes fill, get disabled and get deleted. Frequently asked questions
Is Mailthentic cheaper than Kickbox?

What is the confidence score for?
It lets you set your own risk threshold. Instead of a single valid or invalid label, you can decide to send to everything above a confidence level you choose and hold back the rest, which is particularly useful on catch-all domains.
Will verification guarantee zero bounces?
No honest verifier can promise that. Mailboxes fill up, get disabled or get deleted between the moment you verify and the moment you send, and catch-all servers accept everything regardless. What verification does is remove the known bad addresses and clearly label the ones nobody can confirm.
How do you handle Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 addresses?
Those providers answer 250 OK during an SMTP conversation even for addresses that do not exist, so an SMTP probe cannot confirm the mailbox. We say so on the row and give you a confidence score rather than calling it valid.
