Mailthentic vs MillionVerifier
A MillionVerifier alternative that charges for unique addresses only
MillionVerifier is an established, well known email verification provider with a long standing presence in the market. If you are comparing MillionVerifier alternatives, you are almost certainly weighing cost against confidence: you want a list cleaned at a sensible price, but not at the price of a report that flatters you. We are not going to say anything about their product. This is a straight description of Mailthentic.
The number that actually determines your bill
Headline rates are easy to compare and easy to misread, because most real lists are not clean row counts. They are merged exports, event signups, CRM segments and scraped contacts, and they contain duplicates. Mailthentic deduplicates before processing. You are charged for unique addresses only, so the effective cost of a clean tracks the quality of your list rather than its raw size. Credits bought as pay as you go never expire, so a burst of verification before a campaign does not become a use it or lose it deadline, and there is a monthly plan for teams verifying continuously.
Confidence you can inspect
A cheap clean that produces a false sense of safety is the most expensive thing you can buy, because a bounce spike damages the domain you send from. The hard cases are catch-all domains, which accept every address whether or not the mailbox exists, and mailboxes on Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, which return 250 OK during an SMTP conversation even for addresses that do not exist. No verifier can confirm an individual mailbox in those situations. Mailthentic reports them as catch-all or unknown, with a confidence score, instead of inflating them into a valid.
What runs on every address
- Full detection stack: syntax, domain and MX, disposable domain detection, catch-all detection, role based flagging such as info@ and admin@, plus risky and invalid classification.
- Greylisting retried. A 421, 450 or 451 is a temporary deferral, so we back off and retry rather than discarding a good address.
- Every result explains itself: status, reason, SMTP response code and confidence score.
- API and bulk CSV upload, with your original columns preserved on export.
- CRM round trips with Brevo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp and PlusVibe.
- GDPR aligned. We never sell, share or reuse your contact data.
Pricing changes on both sides, so we quote neither. Open their pricing page, open ours, and compare on cost per unique, usable address.

Comparing the pricing
Verification pricing changes often, so rather than quote a number that may already be out of date, here are both pricing pages. Check them side by side.
Mailthentic
Pay as you go with credits that never expire, or a monthly plan. Duplicates in your list are removed before processing, so you are not charged for them twice.

Where MillionVerifier Excels
We believe in honest comparisons. Here is where MillionVerifier has advantages:
-
A well known, established verification provider
-
A long standing presence in the email data market
-
A familiar option that many marketing teams have used before
Is Mailthentic right for you?
Mailthentic is a strong fit if
- You are cost sensitive and your lists are merged from multiple sources, so duplicate billing is quietly inflating your spend.
- You verify in bursts around campaigns and want credits that are still there next quarter.
- You would rather see an honest catch-all count than a flattering valid count that costs you a bounce spike later.
- You want the reason and the SMTP response on the row so you can spot check the work.
- You want the results back in your CRM, not stranded in a download folder.
What that looks like in practice
Upload a CSV or use the API. We deduplicate first, so the billed volume is unique addresses. Then every address goes through syntax validation, domain and MX resolution, disposable domain screening, role based flagging, catch-all detection and an SMTP probe wherever the receiving server will give a meaningful answer. Deferrals are retried with a backoff. You get valid, invalid, catch-all, risky and unknown with a confidence score on each, and your original CSV columns come back untouched so the file drops straight into whatever you use next.
When another tool may suit you better
If the only thing you care about is the lowest possible headline rate and you are happy to accept whatever a report says without inspecting it, then any verifier will do and you should simply pick the cheapest. Mailthentic is built for the other case: you have a domain reputation to protect, you want to know why an address was judged the way it was, and you want the bill to reflect the unique addresses actually processed. If you also need a sending platform or a lead database, buy those separately, because we do not pretend to be either.
Frequently asked questions
Is Mailthentic cheaper than MillionVerifier?
Pricing changes on both sides and we will not quote a figure for either. Check their current pricing on their pricing page and ours on our pricing page. What we can say is that we deduplicate before processing and bill for unique addresses only, so the effective cost depends on how much duplication is in your list. Compare cost per unique address, not cost per uploaded row.
Do Mailthentic credits expire?
Pay as you go credits do not expire. If you verify continuously, a monthly plan usually works out simpler. Both options are on our pricing page.
How does deduplication actually work?
Before any verification runs, we remove duplicate addresses from your upload. Only unique addresses are processed and billed. Your export still comes back in the shape you need, with your original columns preserved.
Why is my catch-all count higher than I expected?
Because catch-all domains are genuinely common, especially among business domains. Those servers accept every address whether the mailbox exists or not, so we report them as catch-all rather than upgrading them to valid. The count is less flattering and considerably more useful.
Do you support bulk uploads and an API?
Yes, both. Bulk CSV upload for whole lists, and an API for real time checks such as validating an address at signup.
What do you do with my data?
We verify it and return it. Our handling is GDPR aligned and we never sell, share or reuse your contact data.
